The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Bingo Cards — With Some Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator commented earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for happens now.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans make a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
